KNOW YOUR STATUS, STAY HEALTHY:
FOR NATIONAL HIV TESTING DAY, JUNE 27 - ASCNYC OFFERS FREE HIV AND HEP C TESTS
ASCNYC, one of New York’s leading AIDS service agencies, will offer free HIV testing all day on Friday, June 27 – National HIV Testing Day.
More than 181,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS in New York State – and almost 80% of them live in New York City. Yet one of out every five people living with HIV/AIDS remains unaware of their status.
That’s close to 36,000 people who are HIV+ and don’t even know it.
With that in mind, ASCNYC is providing free and confidential HIV and HEP C testing at all three of its Manhattan locations. Rapid test technology can be administered orally or via finger stick. Testing takes approximately 40 minutes, and results are given at the end of the session.
Most importantly, ASCNYC’s experienced counselors will offer support whatever the results -- to help negative people stay negative, and help positive people stay healthy. No matter the results ASCNYC offers tools for you to stay healthy and be supported!
Join ASCNYC on National HIV Testing Day for free testing all day long at our Community Health Fair:

National HIV Testing Day is recognized June 27 every year all over the United States to encourage individuals to get tested and to mobilize those communities hard-hit by the epidemic to take action. Right now, black men who sleep with men have the highest rate of HIV infection in the United States. ASCNYC is rallying, with black MSM at the lead, to help everyone know his or her status and stay healthy.
AIDS Service Center NYC (ASCNYC) is a community based organization helping New Yorkers living with HIV and other chronic illnesses get a second chance to take charge of their health and reclaim their lives. Open since 1990, ASCNYC annually offers over 14,000 people a range of individualized, professional services including access to healthcare, housing, peer education and counseling. ASCNYC programs promote positive change, self-respect, personal responsibility and connection to community.
