AIDS Service Center NYC is thrilled to announce the continuation of our “swimmingly successful” relationship with Team New York Aquatics and the team’s annual One Hour Swim Fundraising event. The One Hour Swim is a U.S. Masters Swimming national swim competition in which participants get in the water and swim for 60 minutes without stopping to see how far they can go in that time period.
Team New York Aquatics (TNYA), Red Tide and the YWCA use the event as an opportunity to do something more. Every year the three swim teams turn its One Hour Swim into a fundraising event in support of local HIV/AIDS organizations. During the event, swim teams from around New York City join together to “swim for a cause,” raising money by gathering sponsorships for each lap they swim in the one-hour time period.
ASC has been selected as the beneficiary organization for the 15th annual One Hour Swim set for January 29-30.
This marks the second year in a row that ASC has been so honored. We are delighted by the sustained support TNYA, Red Tide and YWCA have so generously bestowed on our agency. Last year’s One Hour Swim raised $30,000 for AIDS Service Center, providing support for our women’s network and peer programs. All of us at ASC eagerly look forward to this year’s event in January.
Our sincere thanks to everyone at Team New York Aquatics, Red Tide of New York City, and the YWCA of New York City for supporting ASC’s programs and services for New Yorkers living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS.
