ASCNYC moves to expanded and centralized new facilities at 64 West 35th Street in Manhattan

New York, NY – On January 26, 2015, ASCNYC will open its new and expanded “Midtown Central” facilities in Herald Square, moving its administrative offices and program services (including case management, HIV/HCV testing, peer education, housing assistance, etc.) from its former location near Union Square. The move was brokered by Savills Studley, the leading global commercial real estate services firm.

Now entering its 25th year of service excellence, ASCNYC is a premier multi-service community organization, helping New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions to make positive changes in the areas of health, housing, recovery, and self-sufficiency.

ASCNYC’s new offices at 64 W 35th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues) consist of two floors featuring state-of-the-art offices, plus counseling, training, service delivery, and meeting spaces designed to optimize ASCNYC’s outstanding services and accommodate ASCNYC’s ongoing growth and service enhancements. The Midtown Central office is one of ASCNYC’s five service sites, including the Keith Haring Harlem Center, CASA Washington Heights, Luis and Lillian’s Outreach Center (Lower East Side), and Pelham Grand (Bronx).

“We are thrilled about our move to an expanded, custom-designed space in the hub of Herald Square,” said ASCNYC Executive Director and CEO, Sharen I. Duke. “This convenient new site was thoughtfully designed to provide even more effective and welcoming services for the thousands of people who turn to us for help each year. The move coincides with a period of major expansion as ASCNYC begins its second quarter-century of cutting-edge services.”

The Manhattan Borough President’s Office and New York City Council allocated over $900,000 to make this move possible.

In a well-attended ground-breaking ceremony in late 2014, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer noted, “Too often, the social services must work in offices that do not match the caliber of their care and service. This is a wonderful opportunity to make sure ASCNYC can serve New Yorkers in a beautiful space that reflects the quality of its work.”

The 23,896 square-foot space was secured by Savills Studley Executive Managing Director, Marc Shapses; custom-designed by architect Murray Levi; and built-out by contractor Toma Krasniqi.

“ASCNYC had a clear vision regarding what they wanted from their new facilities.  After looking at various locations all throughout Manhattan, 64 W 35th Street in Herald Square was the perfect fit, offering ASCNYC their own private entrance to the best location, space, and amenities in line with their long term goals” said Shapses.

“We are proud to have designed new offices that complement the character and support the mission of this very special organization,” said Architect Murray Levi.

ASCNYC’s attractive new offices will be open for client services and all other business on Monday, January 26, 2015. The organization’s Union Square site will close for the move at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 23rd.

The new mailing address is: ASCNYC, 64 West 35th St., 3rd Floor, NYC, NY 10001. ASCNYC’s phone number and email contacts remain the same.

ASCNYC helps New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions make lasting, positive changes toward health, housing, recovery, and self-sufficiency. From nationally acclaimed peer training to poetry workshops, medical care to support groups, thousands of people each year get a second chance to take charge of their health and reclaim their lives with ASCNYC.
